The main characters
The story takes place in ancient Egypt, and the drama is set on the banks of the Nile.

The synopsis
Aida, the Ethiopian princess, is captured and taken into slavery in Egypt. Radames, a military commander, fought in the choice between his love for Aida and his loyalty to Pharaoh.
To complicate matters further, Radames is loved by Amneris, the daughter of Pharaoh, but he does not return the sentiment of the princess.
King of the Ethiopians (Amonasro, Aida's father) was captured to win the war, but nobody knows his true identity. Radames to Aida says that the war will end with one last attack.
Amonasro feels and defeats the attack and the war is won by the Ethiopians. Radames is punished by his father and Pharaoh, and is buried alive. Aida, in love with him, buried next to him.
