The synopsis
Tosca, a famous opera singer and painter Mario Cavaradossi were lovers. The story takes place in Rome of the popes of the early 800s, when Napoleon was conquering Europe.
In Rome there were conspirators against the power of the Popes who were persecuted by the police of course controlled by the Pontifical Scarpia, Tosca, and of which he knew was in love.
One of them, Angelotti, who was arrested by the Papal police, he managed to escape and was helped by Mario Cavaradossi in nascondedersi in his villa outside Rome.
Scarpia had been put in search Evasio and some clues led him to suspect that arrests of Mario Cavaradossi, while also proposing to try to convince him to indulge in Tosca.

Unfortunately, as Scarpia had predetermined before his death, the shooting is for real and Mario is killed by firing squad.
The illusion ceases, Tosca discovers him and is desperate. The soldiers and employees of Scarpia, trovatone the corpse, trying to arrest Tosca throws herself from the tower instead of Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome, where he was imprisoned and shot Mario, committing suicide.
