Set in pre-revolutionary France between the depressing misery of a people exhausted and the indolence of the vices of the nobility, the plot is a plot perfect and sometimes morbid betrayals, passions, challenges and memorable nights of love where everyone has a role and a life to be played, heads or tails, among the lights and shadows of a warm alcove.
